At the launch of the Litmus Project, Hartley Library, Southampton
An image of Partical Image Velocimetry that was inspirational in the writing of my poem 'Us'
In May 2013 I was invited to take part in the Litmus Project as part of the University of Southampton's Multidisciplinary Week. The project paired scientists and writers in order to create a poem inspired by the scientist's work. I worked with Marco Placidi whose research on velocity and turbulence helped me to write my poem, Us, which can be read below alongside some of the images that were influential. I wanted to write a poem that could be read in many ways to mirror a sense of chaos and turbulence that I encountered in Marco's work.
